A message from us....

Well this weekend has been quite a long one, and we are EXHAUSTED!! Starting on the 23rd, the Clinkscale Family kicked off their weekend with familiar faces, and some not so familiar faces (in our case). But low and behold it was still a Family Reunion. What fun we had!! I was so blessed to meet some new, amazing people, and to understand that we were all part of the same family made the experience so much more memorable. For the most part the weather was good, and the company even better. It was perfect! Friday was beautiful, and we all crowded together for a delightful dinner at Keeper's Galley Restaurant. It had been a long time sinse we ate at this particular restaurant, but to our surprise the food was delicious. There we all congregated as family, and enjoyed the fellowship. I met some cousins that I never knew I had, and learned more about who they were. I was delighted to discover that we had farmers in our family, and how hard the work was.

Saturday and Sunday were just as exciting. We all enjoyed the beach, and the neverending smorgasboard of food. We cooked out at moms Saturday night, and followed up Sunday morning with a brunch. I was sad to see the extended family go, but am ever so blessed to have had the opportunity to meet some awesome people! I look forward to seeing them next time in Strattford, Kansas.

You gotta be kidding me. You see that pill box on top of this beautiful mountain. That would be condos, right on top of Sugar Mountain. This is what not to do in architecture. Oh yeah, by the way, the winds reach 200 MPH on top of that mountain therefore the top three levels cant be occupied. Smart, huh? The view coulda been good?

We were enjoying being tourists so much that after we went to Linville Falls we decided to go to Grandfather Mountain. Here I am crossing the swinging bridge. The wind was blowing so it was a lil scary, but I survived.

This is Linville Falls, and it was worth the five hours to arrive at one of Gods beautiful creations. Here we stopped for the view and a short trek up the mountain. The weather was just right, and the breeze couldnt have been better. Yes...I cant wait to enjoy the mountain life!!

Well this week has been quite an eventful one. Chad and I have spent the last four days exploring what will soon be our new home. We had a lot to take in this trip, but it was worth it!! Tuesday morning we got up early and spent almost twelve hours traveling. We stopped several times to take in the scenery, but this stop was worth a two hour stroll.

OK, OK....so here is the moment you have all been waiting for! This is it, this is our new kitchen. It is a big difference isnt it??

Just wanted to let everyone know, that the appliances are here!! Yay, tonight will be the first night that I get to cook in my brand new kitchen. The house is just about finished, and it looks incredible. The past two weeks Chad and I have been grinding down, and really getting to work, and it has finally paid off. All that is left is a few trim pieces here and there and some minor accessories like bathroom mirrors. So the fun part has arrived. Between yesterday morning and yesterday night it was like I was in two different houses. In the morning it was a mess, the spare bedroom was still under construction, and there was dog hair piled to the cieling, but come afternoon a total makeover had taken place; it was like Trading Spaces.

Come next week Chad and I will (definitely, this time) be listing our house. We are praying that the right people will come along and be swept away by the few added touches that we feel have made our house a home. We are praying that they will see beyond some of the historic idiosyncrasies, and see the charm and character of this 103 year old home!! and lets just hope it happens fast!
